Research engineer at the Institut des Textes et Manuscrits Modernes (CNRS/ENS), I am a specialist in thework of Émile Zola, thenaturalistnovel and itsrelationship to music, photography and cinema. At ITEM, I am also a codicologist, whichleads me to work on theanalysis of oldpapers and watermarks in themanuscripts of writers, scientists and artists.

Field of research

Since my doctorate, digital technology has been a central element in my research practice, notably by digitizing unpublished and rare documents to which I had access. Since then, at the Centre d'étude sur Zola et le naturalisme, digital humanities have been at the heart of our practices and our reflections, with a view to publishing Zola's archives and manuscripts according to recommended international standards.

Thus, several digital projects have been carried out within this team since 2021:

  • ArchiZ (project funded by the ANR): digital edition of Zola's archives (work, iconography, manuscripts)
  • CorreZ (project funded by the labex TransferS): digital edition of Zola's correspondence, in particular the international correspondence received by Zola at the time of the Dreyfus Affair (on the E-Man platform)
  • ScéNa (project funded by the EUR Translitterae): digital edition of the drafts of Les Rougon-Macquart.

My involvement in the development of digital humanities is notably marked by my commitment to the Steering Committee of the CAHIER consortium (Corpus d'auteurs pour les humanités : informatisation, édition, recherche).
