Head of the BHF; research engineer, retired as of March 2021, currently associated with IHMC, I was in charge of the Bibliographie annuelle de l’histoire de France from 2005 to March 2021. This period was marked by the need to transform the paper production of the Bibliographie annuelle de l'histoire de France (BAHF) into a digital tool, now finalized under the name Bibliographie de l'histoire de France (BHF).
This long journey, full of institutional, technical, financial, and human pitfalls, has allowed me to appreciate the implications of the transition from one culture to another, both for the producers of the bibliography and for its users. The 47 volumes of the "paper" collection, published since 1955 by the CNRS, have been succeeded today by an online database where all the potentialities offered by the web are used to optimize this major tool for the community of historians.
